Meet Our Providers

Carroll A. Pinner, III, MD
Dr. Carroll A. Pinner, III graduated from The Citadel and Bowman-Gray School of Medicine. He completed his residency in the Greenville Hospital System and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He has been with Pinner Clinic since 1975, caring for generations of families.
Dr. Carroll has a special interest in managing chronic health diseases, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, but seems to be the expert on just about anything thrown at him. There isn't much he hasn't seen in his long career of practicing medicine!
Dr. Carroll has a huge heart for ensuring those in need get medical care, whether that's conducting the hard-to-find home visit, volunteering his time and services to the Free Medical Clinic of Newberry County, or acting as a strong advocate for Best Chance Network and other programs that benefit the medically underserved.
Dr. Carroll is ACLS and BLS certified, is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the South Carolina Medical Association and the American Academy of Medical Review Officers.
In his spare time, Dr. Carroll loves hunting and spending time outdoors.

Edwina Hallman, APRN
Edwina Hallman is licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in South Carolina.
Edwina is a native of Baileyville, Maine. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, Edwina served four years in the United States Marine Corps as an air defense officer. Edwina then earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois, and completed her Master’s degree in Nursing from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
Edwina is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing.
In addition to seeing patients who present with acute and chronic illnesses, Edwina has a special interest in women’s health, pediatrics and preventive medicine. Edwina enjoys getting to know her patients and helping them adopt healthier lifestyle habits.
Edwina resides in Prosperity and enjoys spending free time outdoors with her husband and three children.

Benjamin C. Pinner, MD
Dr. Benjamin C. Pinner (son of Dr. Carroll A. Pinner, III) joined Pinner Clinic in 2007. He graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University in 1999 and the Medical University of South Carolina in 2004. He completed his residency training at AnMed Health Family Medicine in Anderson, SC in 2007. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine.
Dr. Ben’s interests include management of chronic health conditions such as diabetes and hypertension as well as preventive healthcare and medical procedures. He has additional training in endoscopic procedures and performs EGDs and colonoscopies at Midlands Endoscopy Center in Irmo. In more recent years, Dr. Ben began training in and performing cosmetic procedures, and in 2020, founded Peak Aesthetics.
Dr. Ben is ACLS and BLS certified, is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Primary Care Endoscopy, the American Association of Medical Review Officers, the South Carolina Medical Association, and the South Carolina Academy of Family Physicians.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ben enjoys spending time with his three children, hunting and being outdoors, gardening, antiquing, and community service.

Catie Thomas, APRN
Catie Thomas is licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in South Carolina.
Catie is a native of Clinton, South Carolina. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the Mary Black School of Nursing at USC Upstate, Catie spent five years working in the Emergency Room. She then earned her Master’s degree in Nursing from South University and spent two years working in internal medicine.
Catie is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and was inducted into the International Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, in 2015.
Catie sees patients with both acute and chronic illnesses and has special interests in preventive medicine, women’s health, and blood pressure management. She is passionate about getting to know her patients and establishing life-long relationships.
Catie currently resides in Kinards. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her husband Kyle, three children Braxton, Emersyn and Olive, and her yellow lab Arlo. Catie also enjoys painting and reading books across a wide variety of topics.
